Introduction to Class Blog:
We’ll be using this site for teacher-to-student communication as well
as student-to-student communication. My goal is to do at least one blog
post per week. Generally I will post on Monday and you have until Friday
to complete the weekly blog by leaving a comment.
Ground Rules:
Before we get started we’ll have to set some ground rules. First of
all, all postings to this site must use school appropriate language.
When you post, write in complete sentences. Key your first and last name
at the end of your post so I know who posted it (all posts are worth
points). When commenting on another student’s post, keep your comments
non-personal. You can agree or disagree with a comment but refrain from
sarcasm and/or put-downs. State your position on the issue at hand and
why you feel that way.

Something small, like missing an assignment for a class, may lower our grade which will affect our chance into getting into the college we want. Then, if we don't get into the college we want, we may not get the career we want. It may be something different than what we planned. That can affect our whole future, not just one small thing.

what we do in the present will either help in our future or mess up are future. For example, by me paying attention in class and not fooling around I would know more about the subject that we are learning about. If we do good things in the present then are future should be a good one, if we do bad things in the present are future could be a bad one. So do good in the present and it would pay off in the future.

3: The future is influenced by the present. If I want a certain job when I get older, and I get bed grades now, I probably won’t get the job I want. If you want to be successful, you must prepare early and work hard so you will be better off financially, physically, and mentally. That was a pretty deep answer.

Wow Nick, you get it! Many young people don't believe their actions will effect their future but they are wrong. Even at your young age the things you do will have an impact on your future. This doesn't mean if you mess up you can't turn your life around because there is always hope. It's much easier if you stick to your plan. :)

3. I think that the quote "the future depends on what we do in the present" means that something that you do right now can have a big effect on the future. For example, if somebody is really good at sports and is one of the most athletic people in their school and ruin it by doing drugs or drinking, they won’t be able to play sports anymore. By doing drugs or drinking, it can affect your future by you not being able to play in college.

3.The quote Gandhi wrote means that when people do good/bad things in the present, they have an effect to the future. An example of this would be recycling. When people recycle they are saving the environment(trees, plants, animals, etc..), and that can help to keep the wild life safe in the future.

To me, the quote by Gandhi means that we should be careful about what we do and weigh the short-term and long-term consequences and benefits. To put this into an action plan, I would say that whatever we do, we should be careful and not throw caution to the wind, though it may be tempting, because to every action, there is some reaction that will come back to you, either now or far into the future.

3. If we do everything that we can to further our education and improve our selves now, it will increase our capabilities to face the challenges of the future. So if we pay attention in class, study, and try to memorize the material to the best of our abilities then we should be able to use that information in the future to do something else. For example, if you pay attention and try to remember the grammar your English teacher is telling you, you should be able to use it in your future to look good on a resume or write and publish a book. Thus after publishing that book or turning in the resume you could either receive money or get the job and then receive money. You effort in learning just helped improve your future.
